BLOG POST 2: GOOGLE SEARCH TOP RESULT

Being someone who is extremely passionate about videography, I decided to go into “incognito mode” on Google and search, “top five best video cameras.” The first result that popped up on the top of the page was entitled, “The Best Video Cameras of 2020.” It was not word for word what I searched, but it definitely was the type of page that I was looking for. The first reason I think that this was ranked as the #1 result of this search on Google is because it is very recent and updated. The date of the post of this page was January 10, 2020. Being a viewer of this website and seeing that date lets me know that this information is up-to-date and reliable. Especially with it being the start of the year, it shows that this post is extremely recent.

Additionally, the URL to this page is short, simple, and includes keywords of my search, which is another reason why this particular website was the top result of my search. I also noticed how the site uses the target keywords within the first 100 words, which is important because Google puts more weight on terms that show up early in your page. The keyword “best video” was recorded a total of 9 times. The keyword “camera” was recorded 124 times. Additionally, the word “video camera” was recorded 31 times on the page. To summarize this, this page is ranked at the top of the search results because of its exceptional keyword frequency. Google can be more confident about the page’s topic if the page mentions the keyword frequently. It confirms to Google that the page is really about the topic that is being searched.

I found this site to be extremely educational and up-to-date. It includes a variety of the top best video cameras and for each one there is a description of the camera, why you should buy it, and who it is for. It is evident why it is the first result of this search on Google.
